How much revenue will legal sports betting generate and where will the money go?
Ultimately the Florida Legislature will determine how much revenue is collected in Florida. Based on estimates of potential tax revenue from sports betting revenue projections in comparable states like New York, Pennsylvania, and Illinois this could total hundreds of millions every year for Florida education.
Isn’t sports betting already legal?
The U.S. Supreme Court recently struck down a federal ban on the ability of states to authorize and regulate sports betting, leaving it up to each state to legalize it. Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature recently made it legal in Florida, and our amendment will allow more competition and enable Floridians to use their favorite sports betting platform.
How will sports betting work in Florida?
Our ballot initiative will bring competitive sports betting to Florida and allow fans to use their favorite online sports betting platforms, such as DraftKings or FanDuel. That means no monopolies or limited options.
